Kittens for dinner?

OUT NOW! DAS MERKWÜRDIGE KÄTZCHEN looks at the ordinary highs and lows of a family through the preparation of a meal.

A family in Kreuzberg: parents, three children, a dog and a cat, grandma, in-laws. Preparing a meal in a cramped kitchen, people bounce off one another but control mechanisms are in place. Only the light bulb pops. DFFB graduate Zürcher’s debut film works Bresson-style with impassive close-ups, using symbolically instated domestic machinery to scatter dots on a white canvas in this anything but by-the-numbers look at the highs and lows of the family pressure-cooker.

Das Merkwürdige Kätzchen (The Strange Little Cat) | Directed by Ramon Zürcher (Germany 2013) with Leon Alan Beiersdorf, Matthias Dittmer, Lea Draeger. Starts January 2
