LaBruce’s second zombie film in two years – set in Los Angeles this time, instead of Berlin – makes its best impressions on the visual level. Eschewing clever dialogue and auteur tricks in favor of beautiful colors and death, sunshine and sex, this film almost reads like a series of interwoven photo shots as we follow the is-he-or-isn’t-he zombie sex adventures of Sagat and his monster cock. No t-shirt ops here, though, as it’s mostly dialogue-free.
L.A. ZOMBIE | Directed by Bruce LaBruce (USA 2010) with Francois Sagat. Opens in Berlin cinemas on October 7.
