Last hurrah

OUT NOW! Despite some jarring moments bestselling book adaptation THE 100-YEAR-OLD MAN WHO... serves up plenty of dark-hearted humour.

In the inevitable film of the ubiquitous bestseller, self-willed centenarian Allan slips out the window of his nursing home and heads off on an adventure of escalating daftness, recounting as he goes his equally dippy biography as Europe’s multilingual, dynamite-toting Forrest Gump. The end product is serviceable enough despite a sometimes jarringly twisted tone, and trumps up distinctly black-hearted laughs with the zeal of a doting granddad dishing out toffees.
