Just not some kind of monster

OUT NOW! METALLICA: THROUGH THE NEVER (3D) isn't the great one. That was its predecessor.

The Decks Berliner covers the new Metallica flick.

Speed metal kingpins turned stegosauri Metallica’s neurotic inner lives figured prominently in 2004’s Some Kind of Monster, one of the great rock documentaries. The IMAXimising Through the Never concentrates on the middle-aged act’s adolescent fantasies, as concert footage is interwoven with an apocalypse conceived by the band, featuring a young Bowie manqué’s descent into a riotous Los Angeles. The 3D format leads to some impressive devil fingering – though, as SKOM showed, the real hell is other people.
