The director of the Berlinale since 2001, Dieter Kosslick is the ultimate food and film connoisseur: in 2006, he started the festival’s “Culinary Cinema” section. This year’s edition features 16 food-centric films, each followed by a meal from a world-class chef.

Friday

19:00 After a long working day, we have our family dinner at Centolire. The traditional pasta is excellent, there are red-and-white chequered tablecloths and the atmosphere is very cosy.

Saturday

10:00 A strong coffee and a typical Swabian Butterbrezel at the Brezelbar to start the day.

11:00 Time for some fresh and healthy shopping at the organic market at Chamissoplatz.

15:00 A visit to Nolan Judin’s Gallery.

19:00 Cooking together with some friends at our place – the prey we hooked at the market is turned into a tasty dinner.

Sunday

12:00 A stroll along the Spree to observe the ever-changing Mitte.

15:00 I take my eight-year-old son to CinemaxX at Potsdamer Platz.

17:00 Enjoy some glorious cake at Princess Cheesecake, made with organic ingredients and milk from the nearby Ökodorf Brodowin.
