Out in the cold

OUT NOW! LA RAFLE is a moving tale that's guaranteed to disturb.

The film follows the story of young Jo (Leverdez), one of 13,152 French Jews (31 percent of them children) detained and deported in the Rafle du Vel d’Hiv roundup in July 1942. The protestant nurse Annette Monod sets out on their trail in an attempt to save the children before eventually succumbing to the tragic conclusion that there is nothing to be done. Focusing especially on the children, this disturbing drama that had France debating will touch the most cynical viewer.

La RAFLE (Die Kinder von Paris) | Directed by Rose Bosch (France 2010) with Hugo Leverdez, Mélanie Laurent. Opens February 10
