Reality programming

Documentary nuts would do well to pay a visit to Berlin's second Documentary Forum. Featuring all of the most recent developments in this loose collection of films with the motto "New practices across disciplines".

Keeping pace with the vanguard of current documentary practice, Berlin’s second Documentary Forum explores recent developments in an increasingly loosely defined discipline.

A selection of these will show at Haus der Kulturen der Welt, including a three-part event dealing with the west’s resurgent interest in death: in Framing Death (May 31, 21:30, Jun 1, 20:30, Jun 3, 17:30) art historian Sylvère Lotringer uses images taken by New York City police to examine strategies of evidence taking.

On Continuity (German with English subs) is another three-part event organised by Florian Schneider and Thomas Heise that looks at the cinematographic use of linear time in establishing colonial narratives (Jun 3, 12:00).
