Winter, Go Away!

In collaboration with the Konrad Wolf film school in Potsdam, Russian Film Week showcases eight short films, documentaries and animations from alumni of three of Moscow’s most prestigious film institutes including the renowned Russian State University of Cinematography (VGIK), the oldest film school in the world.

Expect a mixed bag of themes and genres, mostly dealing with contemporary Russian youth’s desires and hopes (all Russian with Eng sub).

Don’t miss Winter, Go Away! (Nov 30, 20:00) by graduates of the Course for Screenplay and Directors and the Russian-international collaboration “Generation Campus”.

The film is a two-year-long documentary that chronicles the faces, discussions, hopes and final defeat of the Russian opposition with the second re-election of President Vladimir Putin last May. The film received a Golden Leopard at this year’s Locarno Film Festival.
