Although Polanski and Kieslowski may be the two household names, Poland has produced a wealth of highly talented directors.

Among them is Andrzej Munk, whose untimely passing at 40 contributed to his relative anonymity.

On the 50th anniversary of his death, Tilsiter Lichtspiele offers the rare opportunity to see four of Munk’s films on the big screen throughout September, each in Polish with English subtitles.

For many, this may also be an opportunity to discover a new favourite cinema, as the Tilsiter is one of the cheapest and cosiest venues in town.
