Chick-flick meets bromance

OUT NOW! THIS MEANS WAR is a high-tech take on the classic tale of "two boys meet one girl". Sometimes amusing yet essentially vacant.

There’s a Friends episode in which Joey and Ross are dating the same girl. This Means War is based on the same premise, just with a lot more special effects (these two best buds are CIA agents monitoring each other’s ‘progress’ with high-intel devices) and a few extra twists and turns. Kudos for merging chic-flick and high-octane bromance, a snappy script, some laugh-out-loud moments and Til Schweiger/Chelsea Handler as the Teutonic baddie/gal pal. Pity about the sloppy sentimentality, and don’t get me started on the ending.

This Means War (Das gibt Ärger) | Directed by McG (USA, 2012) with Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine, Tom Hardy. Starts March 1
