Smalltime dealer David (Sudeikis), pressed into a huge Mexican drug run, hires prickly stripper Rose (Aniston) plus a motley pair of teens (Roberts and Poulter) to pose as his white-bread family to cross the border without suspicion. Might they discover the draw of picket-fence values? The oddly-paced plot is predictable, the pop culture references awkward, and the laughs mostly guilty – but they do happen, and the whole thing might almost be worth it for Nick Offerman’s scene-stealing turn. Almost.
We’re the Millers | Directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber (USA 2013) with Jennifer Aniston, Jason Sudeikis, Emma Roberts, Will Poulter. Starts August 29
