You won’t find Statham splitting hairs over cashing a cheque like this – he’s a stone cold gun for hire, both on screen and off – but how many more times can we allow Tucci to get away with it? In Simon West’s utterly baffling, scattershot Wild Card, we find him lending his talents to a film which takes its thrills from a revolting, careless scene involving a young woman being sexually assaulted with a pistol. Has rape culture come this far? The answer, it would seem, is yes.
