Work is play

OUT NOW! A slightly predictable and clichéd plot doesn't spoil the fun in SI PUÒ FARE.

In 1980s Milan, Nello is sent to work as a manager in a mental institution. Faced with a system that reduces its patients to empty shadows by overmedication and neglect, he sets out on a mission to make the patients work in order to increase their quality of life. Manfredonia’s film is very traditional both in plot and filmic style, and maybe it’s only the softly rolling Rs or the warmth of passionate people – but a slightly predictable and clichéd plot never spoils the fun.

Si Può Fare | Directed by Giulio Manfredonia (Italy 2008) with Claudio Bisio, Anita Caprioli. Opens June 16
