Berlin Master Chef 2022 Jonas Zörner of Berlin’s ‘Golvet’ has created a menu of high-quality birds served with apple-red cabbage, lard green cabbage, traditional Serviettenknödel and jus. The dishes just require a straight-forward 45 minute preparation at home and serve two to three people. Order and collect the feast for €99, or have it delivered for €109 euros. Just remember to order at least 24 hours in advance.

From 17 to 23 December, ‘Horváth’ offers its “Duck for Dahoam” – steamed whole and paired with apple-red cabbage, bread dumplings, wild cranberries and glazed chestnuts. The entire feast goes for €215 euros and generously feeds 4 people. Scale things up a bit and go for the full three-course menu, with celery cream soup and curd dumplings for €290. The kitchen just needs 48 hours’ notice for all variations.

Jäger & Lustig
With the ‘traditional Christmas goose to go’ package from Jäger & Lustig, you’re getting a whole goose with green and red cabbage, roasted chestnuts, dumplings and gravy. The package serves four people and includes a handy reheating guide. This one’s for collection only, with payment of €109 on site. For an extra €15 euros, you’ll take it all home in sustainable packaging material with microwaveable bowls and dishes. Just be sure to let the kitchen know 3 days in advance.

‘Theaterklause’’s goose is stuffed with chestnuts and kumquats and accompanied by Thuringian dumplings, red cabbage and gravy. If you’ve got any room left, dessert is nougat with mandarin and gingerbread. The spread feeds four people and is only available for collection from the ‘Theaterklause’ restaurant. It’s in Potsdam, so we’d recommend making a day of it, and collecting your feast before you head back to Berlin. Just remember to make your order 3 days in advance.

Café am Neuen See
‘Café am Neuen See’ delivers their goose cleaned, stuffed, spiced and ready for the oven. It’s enough for four people and can be collected for €120, or for €15 or more (depending on where you live) you can have it delivered. If you want to really impress your guests, one of the Café’s chefs will come to your house and carve it for you (with a price tag of €359).

Gans wie bei Oma
‘Gans wie bei Oma’ uses only free-range geese from local farms for their festive roasts. For €119, their roast goose serves four, but you can also go for a smaller 3-person option for €89. They come fully prepped and ready to throw into the oven. Side dishes can be ordered separately, so you can decide exactly what you’d like to pair with your bird. A hearty vegetarian option is available – a nut roast prepared according to a Saxon recipe (for €16.90 per portion) served with vegetarian gravy.

‘Relish’’s dishes are prepared by the kitchen team for you to cook to perfection at home. Crispy braised goose with cabbage, dumplings, chestnuts and cranberries. Both are finished off with a baked apple crumble and curd mousse and paired with a bottle of red Cuvée.

Ganymed Brasserie and Brechts Steakhaus join forces to prepare a six-person festive turkey with pumpkin-apple stuffing and side dishes for €140. If you’re in the mood for something more gamey, try their truffle guinea fowl for two people for €85. Their Festive Christmas Menu can be prepared for either two or four people as a three- or four-course meal with a choice of barbary duck or goose leg as the main. Prices range from €98 to €276 and exclude shipping.

Brasserie am Gendarmenmarkt
The Brasserie am Gendarmenmarkt offers their famous duck to go. For €99 including shipping, the bird is enough for two to three people and comes with red and green cabbage, four dumplings, gravy, breadcrumbs and apple chutney, packed in airtight vacuum bags (for easy at-home preparation). At home, the duck and side dishes only need to be heated up according to the enclosed instructions.
