An exciting institution, 20 minutes northeast of Alexanderplatz. A mix of historical-authentic and innovative-unique architecture (1933) by Mies van der Rohe and exhibitions by contemporary artists who deal with the Bauhaus heritage or Mies van der Rohe. Completed and opened for the Lemke couple in 1933, it was van der Rohe's last Berlin building before he left Nazi Germany and moved to the United States in 1937. Since 1990 it has been a public art space under the direction of chief curator and Bauhaus expert Wita Noack. The exhibition motto this year is: "Space Time Odyssey", the artist Veronika Kellndorfer shows her innovative glass works on the subject of the New National Gallery from June 6th to December 20th.
