Friday
18:00 Clärchens Ballhaus (Auguststraße 24, Mitte) for a dance class, to show off my tango expertise.
20:00 Meet friends at Hamburger Bahnhof (Invalidenstraße 50, Mitte), for a vernissage and a social whirl.
22:00 Oysters washed down with vodka tonic at Borchardt (Französische Straße 47, Mitte). Love the mix of old Berlin glamour and a young, stylish crowd.
2:00 In 2010, Mexico celebrates 200 years of independence, 100 years of revolution – I sense that spirit at Bar25 (Holzmarktstraße 25, Friedrichshain).
Saturday
13:00 Maria Bonita (Danziger Straße 33, Prenzlauer Berg). Superior quesadillas and tacos plus the Mexican cure for hangovers – tequila!
15:00 Poolside at Soho House (Torstraße 1, Mitte). I go to see and be seen (and eat an ice cream sandwich).
18:00 Vernissage at Eigen + Art (Auguststraße 26, Mitte). Judy Lybke has the best art and the most beautiful girls working for him.
21:00 Grill Royal (Friedrichstraße 105, Mitte) with Mexican art world friends. Fabulous aged Irish steak, contemporary art, buzzing crowd.
1:00 Drinks at King Size Bar (Friedrichstraße 112b, Mitte). My local bar: things really get started here.
3:00 Panorama Bar at Berghain (Rüdersdorfer Straße 70, Friedrichshain) gives me Berlin’s wild side – a contrast to my formal working week.
Sunday
12:00 Double espresso and rosti with fried eggs at Nola’s am Weinberg (Veteranenstraße 9, Mitte).
13:30 Take the S-Bahn to Sanssouci (Maulbeerallee, Potsdam). Clear my lungs with a walk in the park, envy the Prussian order and opulence, dream about being König.
19:30 Dinner at Al Contadino Sotto Le Stelle (Auguststraße 36, Mitte): freshest buffalo mozzarella in Berlin. The friendly, family atmosphere is Sunday-perfect.
21:00 Rent a DVD at Filmgalerie 451 (Torstraße 231, Prenzlauer Berg). Some quiet time at home with my ego – the rest of my life is filled with people!
