The Neue Nationalgalerie - housed in Mies van der Rohe's 1968 famous glass-and-steel construction - is one of Berlin's most distinctive landmarks.
It is the city's pre-eminent showcase for modern art. Its collection focuses on the early 20th century; Cubism, Expressionism, Bauhaus and Surrealism are particularly well represented.
Unfortunately it has been closed since 2015 for renovations for an unspecified amount of time.
