A small prodigy
Suffering from osteogenesis imperfecta (brittle bone disease), Michel Petrucciani found life an adventure in music. A one-metre-tall piano prodigy, he made an astounding impact on modern music, especially on jazz. This documentary follows Petrucciani’s short life from his childhood in rural France to the wild years of fame, drugs, sex and jazz in the US, reminding us that the 1970s were a cool time to be alive, and above all, that it’s the intensity and not the duration of our lives that matter.
Michel Petrucciani (Michel Petrucciani - Leben gegen die Zeit) | Directed by Michael Radford (Germany, France, Italy 2011), documentary. Starts December 8
