The dream of the 1990s is alive on Mehringdamm – not that it ever died for Zinefest, whose fourth incarnation takes place November 8-9.

As it has for the last three years running, the queer- and feminist-friendly shindig turns Kreuzberg’s Hinterhof-located SFE space into a DIY paradise, with over 60 zine enthusiasts peddling their self-published wares.

Alongside mini-mags filling every niche from sci-fi to trans* issues, look out for the weighty “Tumble the Boulder – The Surveillance State and the American Empire” by Comet Crowbar, aka co-organiser Halley Murray, who looked to Exberliner’s Edward Snowden issue for inspiration.

Plus workshops on typography, DIY radio, mental health and more; food, drinks and desserts; a craft room just in case the offerings inspire you so much you want to start creating on the spot; and a righteous antifolk/punk/emo aftershow at West Germany on Saturday night.

Throw on your Doc Martens and join the party.
